2000 miles and 2 quarts of oil?

Was driving along the other day and the warning light came on indicating that I needed oil. Added 1 quart; light stayed on. Added a 2nd quart and the light's now off. Is this normal?? (I don't see any indication of oil leaks etc).

Not a big surprise if it were an M5 driven briskly.

bmw will say a quart every 600 miles is normal, my 7 consumes a quart every 6-7K miles...

I'm a "spirited" driver - but haven't been driving it too briskly. Guess I'll give the dealer a call...

How long did the light stay on after adding the first quart? That happend to me, but after an hour or two and a coupe of restarts, the light went off and the screen displayed maximum level.

Hmmm. Maybe I should have waited before adding the 2nd quart. It was about an hour after adding the 1st quart that I added the 2nd quart, couple of starts/stops in between.
