Z4 Just got the chrome tail pipe covers mounted

Thanks to the great post by Starscream88 last week, I finally got the chrome tail pipe covers off the shelf and mounted. Thanks to the Dremel, vice grip and rubber mallet, they are finally on. I'll post a picture of the mod later when the rain storm quits. They really brighten up the rear end, they are subtle, but make a nice difference.

I am interested in your tips. I cant tell you how badly i hate the standard exhaust coming out of the back of the car. What part number are they?

Here's a picture of the tips. The ones I bought were designed for a 2.5i and required some modification. Check out www.getbmwparts.com or email jason there and see if he can give you the correct part number.

If anyone is looking for a set of these let me know as a friend of mine has a set from his Z4,

The ones they sent were not round, they were more oblong. I persuaded them some with a rubber mallet and then quit when I liked the form.

Obviously the wrong ones. I tried to persuade the cover on with the rubber mallet and Jason said that he would take back the unopened one but because I had attempted to mount the other one, I would need to keep that one. I am not complaining one bit, because I did it, not them. After that I was determined to "make them fit" and so the procedure above was completed. I looked at the web site but I could not find the part number I ordered listed. I think the ones that Jamie has available would probably work better than the ones I used. Hopefully others won't pay close attention to them, there's no sneaking anything past Ron. ;-)
