X5 35i vs X5 35D, Which One to Get!!!

The diesel is fantastic in the mountains with its large, flat torque curve, rarely downshifting except on the really steep slopes. During my vacation trip in Colorado, and then Yellowstone/Tetons, it was a joy to drive when the road went up! Reminded me of how my easily my BMW K bike takes the mountains.

Test drove the 2011 x35d and 2012 x35i and the diesel was noticeably louder. I'm contemplating waiting for the 2012 x35d later this year but still hesitant because of the difference in decibels.

The Prius will definitely be quieter than the x35i.

Lol, what's so bad with noise of diesel..not that loud. Different strokes I guess. :/
