How do I open the hood of my X5?

I know its a dumb question, but I can not find the outside latch.
I have an 08 x5. My previous model had a very visible latch, this one seems more hidden.
I look at the manual, and the image is no help.

Can someone maybe post a picture of where its at?

I downloaded your owners manual and from the pics, it cant be that hard to find. Feel around.

It is exactly in the middle of the hood. But you need to raise the hood up a little (or have very long fingers) to easily feel it.

?????????????????????????? Please read the manual. The main hood release in on the driver's kick panel. Pull it toward you. This pops the hood open. There is a secondary release in the grill which must be lifted to release the hood completely.

The OP says he has an E70 X5 not an E53 X5. Hence the OP's question. The secondary release on an E70 is NOT "in the grill". It is in the very center of the hood UNDER the hood itself.

don't open the hood OP, BMW doesn't want you looking in there.
