Drive Belts installation

How do I properly install drive belts on 99 540i ?

That diy is too much, all you have to do is release the belt tensioner next to the alt and fish the belt around the fan- If you want it to feel like you really did something you can take the fan off, but be careful the baldes can be extra brittle in this cold weather.

I should have changed mine when I was replaced the waterpump. I just noticed some cracks on the belts.

It's not too bad replacing those belts. It should be less than an hour. The hardest part is removing the fan. Come to think of it, you should know, you did change the water-pump.

I have the wrench set to easily remove the fan. I just don't like to get my hands dirty. I used to love fixing cars but as I aged the love isn't there anymore.
