650i V8 Engine VERY efficient!

My sisters 09 650i is averaging 20.1 MPG and my 08 328xi is averaging the same! My car is 2 years old and her car is 2-3 months old! I'm truly amazed! Her car has been driven in a mix of city and highway(mostly city) while my car has been driven 90% in the city. That V8 is amazing!

thats pretty much what ive been averaging in mine, im allways partial to the V8 in general as they dont have to work as hard durring cruising around and when you need the power its allways there

just my thoughts

i wish i cud say the same i average 11.8 lol

Really, mostly city miles for mine but after 10,200 miles averaging 13.36 mpg. Best tankful ever was 20.1mph on a road trip ( at 80 mph though)

I get 14 mpg on a good day

the last time i went on a road trip was summer of last year it was about a month after i got the car at 80mph if i remember correctly i averaged about 15.3 or so and i was cruise controlling

i get 16.4 mixed (80% city and 20% highway)...

when I go on the freeway and reset it during that drive it's around 20-24mpg 100%hiway... all depends how traffice is and how I accelerate - that extra power is sometimes too quick... I go from 50-70mph in just a few seconds and the engine is just purring... not even straining at all...

If not for HUD I'd probably be riddled with tickets... I keep catching my speed on the HUD and then have to let go of the gas... very easy to hit 80mph without intending to do so...

Remember OP, it's a female driving the 650

23 avg. on my 645ci, 50/50 highway/city. I'm male but apparently I need to start HGH treatments.

18.3 with 90/10 City/Hwy mix. I do drive like an asshole quite often.

I average about 16 mpg. On one long mostly expressway trip I averaged over 28 mpg, according to the computer anyway.

Computer says 20.3. Not in Sport mode though

That is really good news to hear. I can am shocked that the V8 is doing that well, but no one can give the excuse that they didn't want the V8 because of the gas mileage anymore.

Wow not bad. I haven't been able to get anything close to that. I keep getting about 16-16.5 mpg

Both mine and my wifes' car (she has the vert, I have the coupe) average 19.5mpg, we both use the cars as our daily drives and it is mainly around town.

If I drive on highway I get 17mpg, when I drive around in city traffic it only gets 9.8-11 mpg. It's not too good on gas but I love driving this car !

Just came back from a trip to Florida. In almost 3000 miles, my twin-turbo 535i averaged 28 mpg.

With close to the same power as the V8.

I would seriously get your car checked out, surely there shouldn't be that much of a variation in mpg, as I said before I get 19.5 around town if I go up to Tampa (about 195 miles round trip) I get around 22mpg.

im avg 12 in the city.

Getting an efficient car with forced induction is easy. Not so with a Naturally aspirated engine. This cars V8 is LEAGUES better then the forced fed engine from the 335i and 535i. Can't wait to get my ///M.
