Chrome and BMW simply don't work well with each other. Many manufacturers pull it off nicely, BMW just isn't one of them, It's never been their style, and probably never will be

Decorated the 328 for our daughters 18th Bday. (She got a bunch of stares and waves at the school parking lot.)

Except on the drug dealer 7 Series. With a nice lip they can pull off chrome just fine IMO

Just recieved all this from the Fedex man today. It shipped from WI on Thursday and is on my doorstep Saturday morning. Should be on the car next weekend if the weather is nice. I am waiting on the reinforcement plates and new gaskets I ordered.

lol ya i did jump on ya for the painted trim, looks like a cavalier... i said i may paint my door handles bc i hate BLACK... This puts me in a hard spot bc obviously i have black trim and i wouldnt paint it. I definately like the chrome grilles more than the all black grilles. All black reminds me of racing. i def. dont have a race car. I love my big comfy vader black leather seats w the m3 logos but i like my ac and the flash of alpine white. I think white is the best bmw color out there. I do like that mexican/asian looking guys bright blue bimmer and the 2 bright red bimmers that i c on here often but i dont like any other stock colored bmw. I also dont like 5 series bmws... not 80's or 90's or even up2 2004... not sure what the brand new 1s look like.

Search for the Infamou$ project. Here and on FaceBook. THe AC Schnitzer E36 he has was gorgeous and he painted his trim silver, which looked incredible on his AW.

Change the black cars oil and main belt and rotated the tires. I got the red car "smogged", finished painting the rear wheels, Got the A/C charged (still doesn't work, stupid wireing), put top rubber hats in the rear springs, changed the Tstat and housing, new hoses, new fan clutch, put in condenser fan, cleaned it up, and adjusted the fitment of the drivers headlight a bit, and put the trunk back together somewhat... Pretty productive day. The red car is a freaking monster to drive...

H&R sport springs and Bilstein sports.

H&R 28mm front sway bar.

I got it all from Justin (The Otherside). Its off an m3 so the struts have the m3 connection for the sway bar. I am going to hold off putting the bar in just yet and wait til I get a rear sway bar to match. I am afraid that if I added the bar and changed the mounting points without doing anything to the rear bar that the understeer would be rather excessive.

I mounted my other two starspecs on the freshly painted LTW wheels, and now the red car's at the shop getting an alignment! Its still pretty scary to drive, I think mostly because the struts are too long, will get some koni's soon. I as hoping the starspecs would help somewhat in keeping the single long black stripes on the pavement to a minimum, but if you go past half way to the floor with the go pedal they just turn into smoke... I guess after the shocks, I'll be looking for some type of LSD diff. the car turns 3K RPM at 70 so maybe something taller, it is nice only having to push the pedal down half way in 5th at 70 and see 100 come up that fast though... not so great for my 70 mile round trip to work every day but very very fun....

For the hood cowl, the biggest pain is getting those wiper arms off, its almost as if they're welded to the car

But once you get them off and you put the hood in service position its a super simple

As for the windows, it was a bit tricky removing the rubber strips that were already there, I had to pry em off with a screwdriver, then the even bigger pain was removing the adhesive that was left behind.

Fitting the new rubber trim piece was kinda tricky cause I didn't completely take out the rear window, I only unscrewed it from that hinge

Eh, that doesn't sound too bad. I've had my wiper arms off before, so I know they aren't stuck on. I wonder why yours were. Anyway, I'm sure it looks a lot better now.

Yeah the concepts are simple, execution can get irritating

for me atleast ahaha

I think it might have just been rust for me, I spent like maybe an hour or 2 dozing it in WD40, pounding them, pulling, trying to pry em, siiigh :/

But yeah the car looks much nicer now

My old cowl was just gray and all the rubber seal was gone
