Today on my Bimmer I...

Nice job. I wish I thought to refinish my wheels before I got the tires mounted. The gas station put another scratch in the wheels when they mounted the tires. It happens every time

Didn't look bad, but as soon as gas touched it it was ruined. Be careful with that stuff, it definitely doesn't protect like clear+hardener from a gun.

I used Wurth High Gloss Clear Lacquer Spray. I waited for 5 whole days to let it cure before getting the tires installed. But good to know.

I know the owner of the service garage and personally got his reassurance that it would not get scratched during the tire install!!

Changed the lock button on my trunk, now I don't have to rely on the power lock. I have to carry 2 keys now but I can live with that. Found the used lock on E-Bay w/2 keys for $29 to my door. Easy DIY, 2 bolts and 2 rods.

Nice job on those wheels! I want to respray my bbs rs wheels soo bad because the clear coat on the lip is pealing off...I would like to get the lip mirror polished but i wouldn't knw what color to go with for the center mesh spokes tho?? Powder Gold, black, or original color? Suggestions???

Uuuuuuu....pearl white sounds nice! Anyone on here have some pearl whites or sweet colored mesh bbs rs wheels??? Pictures plz! I knw there is a post your e36 pictures thread but I wanna see some sweet looking bbs rs on e36.

As my wife says, 90% of the work in getting a great paint job is the prep work, cleaning, sanding, degreasing, more sanding, etc.

Hectorml07, I think gold would look great on those wheels.

Wheels look great...you know the ///M stickers you painted over can be replaced cheap via ebay...just in case you wanted new ones.

Shigeta those look great..I think I like the idea of gold powder coating to go with my black car.

Gold always looks best on style 5 centers. There's not enough contrast between the pearl and aluminum. From 50 seet away it all looks like white. Just as well be polished centers.

I picked up a set of staggered Style 68's. It seems to be raining wheels! It would be a good change, maybe I will put them on for Bimmerfest East.

Yea I like the second set of wheels that I posted with gold bolts and center caps...I dnt think ill have them done for bimmerfest tho :/...one day ....nice set u picked up tho! How much did u pay for them?

Hectorml07 - thx, They were very dirty when I got them (see pic). A little simply green and a power washer and voila ... not bad for $250.

Yeah! not bad at all. The tires are ok, one of the fronts has a puncture. And the rear tires are fairly bald, but probably ok for 2000-4000 miles. I am probably looking at new rubber at some point. But even for the wheels, that's $63/wheel. How do you go wrong with that!!

Also, this is my first staggered set. The rear wheels are with 245/40's, very fat indeed.
