...tried to put in fog lights, where fog lights have not gone before. Of course, the U nuts are missing and guess what local automotive or hardware shop carries small U nuts? NOBODY!!! I have to order from BMW, or retrofit with regular hex bolts/nuts.

Yeah, had to rotate the tranny a bit to get it to line up, forgot about the starter.

Nah, last autox was last weekend, all thats going on now is rallycross, not exactly low friendly.

Yeah, the fog lights make almost no difference. They add a tiny amount of additional illumination the the ground directly in front of and to the sides of the car, but hardly. They don't help at all in terms of longer distance illumination. They're pretty much just for looks if you ask me.

Yeah, my fog lights are just for show. I used the fog wiring to power the city lights back when I had the M3 bumper without fogs. Not worth wiring them up, honestly.

fogs dont make a **** worth a difference at night... might just have to pony up and get HIDS.

when i go to order and it says upgrade 55W +10$ does that mean the high beams? or does it mean upgrade the low beams to a 55W size. and the highs are still halogen?

Hids in my fogs make my lighting much much wider. But I still don't use them that much.

Although it seems most people say that with 55W HID low beams, having HIDs for the high beams because almost unnecessary.

Franklyn, have you tried re-aiming your headlights? They have adjuster screws. Also, are your lenses clear? And lastly, how old are your bulbs? Regular halogen bulbs dim and yellow with age.

This.. Also, HID's in the high beams will take 10-15 seconds to warm up once turning them on, so flashing doesn't work anymore... If you hit traffic, they will blind the **** out of anyone too...

I would recommend retrofitting DJ autos with FXR projectors. They shoot so much further and wider and more consistant = brighter than the DJ autos...
