What's the clutch bite like?

It bites immediately off the clutch stop. Also when you feather the clutch it makes a horrible chatter noise.
NINJA EDIT: Reading that the shudder will go away as the clutch wears. Lets hope so! I also hope the bite point moves more towards the middle of the pedal travel. If not I'm gonna look into getting a 325i slave.

Yeah, I get flywheel chatter when I feather the clutch.
The release point closer to the clutch stop is supposed to happen with a new clutch, I believe. More clutch width, more push needed to get it disengaged. Or if it's really far back (dunno if you have an aftermarket stop or not), then you might need to bleed the slave.

Ah, but it's so much fun to grab gears. You just hate it cause you stalled like 10 times going around the block

Yeah, it's far different from a stock clutch. It's not bad once you get used to it, though.

Wish I had the ambition to do something with mine. Got a weird thing going on with the clearcoat peeling off...rub my thumbnail over it and it detaches from the paint. About half is gone and half to go. Any great way to do it without harming the paint???

that happened to my hood i stripped my whole hood only because of crappy body work before and painting the whole car ..you could try using a blow gun to see if the rest of the clear will blow off most of the time it does without ruining the paint no grauntee tho what color is your car? and if you get it all off could just get the hood re cleared

Yeah, right.

Done, finally. Did a massive cleanup on the cover, inside and out, then painted it and had to wait about 3 hours for the paint to dry since it's turned real chilly here (low 50s). Phone's being an ass and won't upload the finished picture. I'll do it when I get back to the house.

happens with cars from high temp areas my 318 spend 15 years in FL came to Ny and boom clear coat started coming off like no tomorrow. Has something to do with the heat just get it all off and leave it that flat color
My 318 was boston green without clear coat, looked nice waxed but all waxing rags turned green from rubbing paint right off

Mine is "Alpine White"...and yes, if I can get the clearcoat all (or mostly off...hood and trunk deck mostly peeled) I will spend some quality time with a good polishing compund followed by Maquiars(sp) wax....and elbow grease. That's what we used to do before clearcoats!

Don't get me wrong it looked actually decent but it was a PITA. Regardless of what wax you use rain and mud spots show up 100x more so on flat paint

Hey...I remember that after they quit making the good paints....guess that's why the clearcoat!?!? I think green is a good color...if it is a dark green it is probably like trying is to keep a black car clean!
