Yeah, Mothers Back to Black is garbage. It came off after two car washes when I used it. Useless... I ordered THIS a few days ago, and am optimistic. Griot's is an excellent company, and I've spoken with several local BMWCCA members who said that this stuff works exceedingly well. It should be arriving in the next day or so. I'll report back after I've applied it, and washed the car a handfull of times.

shrug.
i hooked it up, everything worked perfectly. lock/unlock/lock/unlock. i went to bed! then i woke up, hit the unlock button, the horn just went NNNNAAAAAHHHHH steadily until i ripped out the glove box to find a smoking mess! the alarm unit was barfing out smoke. i tore it out, and opened it up. some thing with 3 prongs going into the circuit board apparently caught on fire, desoldered itself, and welded itself to the cover. the circuit board is now a hearty black color and it stinks badly. it was fused and everything. stock harness, stock alarm. side note: anyone got an alarm to send me? lease:

today it was raining and after work i decided this was the perfect time to try some drifting and burning out in my auto 98 328i without taking to much tread off my tires. the past couple of times ive tried this it was dry and i was in drive this time i finally realized that if i went into manual mode and put it in first gear it would give me the most torque and it worked!!!!

I did that a week ago and oversteered for about 4.5 carlengths sideways into a fence. Scary.
