I switched out my HVAC blower last night. 48min start to hood down. It was only running intermittently and once I got it out I discovered the brushes were worn all the way down on the motor. The one side was totally gone and only the spring was making contact so unless I was lucky and the spring was touching two contacts, it wouldn't start. I lubed up the wiper arm linkages while I had it out as well. I also discovered a helpful trick that I will start a separate thread on.

I wanted to work on my car today, but we have 27mph winds here, and I live on top of a hill with absolutely nothing to block the wind. I gotta keep my pup on a leash so she doesn't blow away

I put in a new window slider/clip and fixed my driver's side door panel so it doesn't fall off when I shut the door.

I hope both of them don't pop off.

dropped the transmission pans (auto), drained, cleaned, installed new gaskets and re-installed. Pulled front struts. They were so bad, when I pulled the top bushing and removed the springs, the piston just sank into the body. Re-installing tonight.

Realized his cars a piece of ****.

Erg hate 318i's not looking forward to a axle/differential/wheel bearings/anything else it could be, swap.

for the first time in the nearlty two years I hav eowned my 1996 328 cabriolet, there are no warning lights ( orange or red) showing. For a while we had the ABS, DYN COntrol and engine check lights on and the diagnosis was that an O2 sensor needed changing and the ABS unit needed rebuilt. After a short stay at a good BMW technical shop ( not the local dealer)| the lights are gone and the problem was apparently simply a bad fuse connection ( not a bad fuse|). all the warning lights are out!!!! no expensive repairs!!! who would have thought it|\!!!

I don't want my abs so I'm not going to fix it

I'm also thinking about making an adjustable shifter linkage for my car.

Re-installed front struts, finished filling transmission. Warmed it up, re-checked the level and plugged it. Still need to do rear shocks and front right wheel bearing - probably tonight if anyone wants to come over and wrench

yes Ken I did think perhaps they had just taken the bulbs out. BUt if thats the case good oh!! i feel much better!!!!!

Nope, not yet. I haven't worked on the car since I threw in the interior. I have a 300 page book to finish reading by tmw morning (pretty much tonight) and I only started reading yesterday... 2/3 of the way done!! After tmw ill get some work done finally!! Starting off with a car wash

Ordered and on its way
Main and conrod bearings

Purpose

Shrick 284 cams
Conforti custom tune for engine control unit and vanos control unit

and hopefully a custom carbon airbox.. If I can find one in Canada
