I discovered that the tilt sensor actually works... as I jacked the car up, the moment the tires left the floor, the alarm went off...

I figured out when you use the "all windows" button and then go to roll up all the windows, if you try to open the door with your pinky, the car diengages the door handle. You cant open the door while rolling up all the windows!

Nah - pulled into a parking lot and both wanted to secure the car a bit and get out of the car.

It's more amazing to think someone at BMW said "perhaps we should not allow the door to open when rolling up the windows"

I just discovered that to turn off the turn signal (not the 3 blink signal) you simply press the lever the same direction again. Couple of times I changed lanes and took the stalk past resistance and the left directional was on. I tried to turn it off like my previous mechanical stalks by hitting the stalk for a right signal, that just turned on the right signal. Then tried to shut that off by clicking down and the left signal went on.

People behind me probably thought I was drunk. Later on I figured out that if the left signal is on just press it down (or left) again and voila, it shuts off.

By the way, I saw a guy driving on the interstate in an M6 that did the same thing I had done originally, left/right/left signals trying to "barely" touch it to turn off.

I brought this up before in a different thread trying to figure out if I had the comfort system (I don't) but try this.
My 6er does not have the comfort package ie key-less entry and start. But found this out after I had my iDrive updated and also tried it on the loner they gave me afterwords when I had my tuneup and it worked on the loner also (loner did not have comfort package).
I can get in my car and put the FOB in and start the car normally. I can the turn the car off remove the FOB (put it in my pocket) and then start the car without the FOB in place and drive it around normally.
Go figure...

question do we have rain sensing wipers. I noticed when it rains n i turn the wipers on int when the rain stops so do the wipers and as it starts up again the wipers just go i had that in my lexus but i didnt know it was a feature in the 6.. I tried running the car and spraying it down with a hose to see if it goes off on its own no luck.. im not sure if this only works if the car is in motion.

We do have rain sensing wipers... They will speed up, slow down all on there own.

we do but you have to turn it on by pressing the wiper stalk button inwards and the green light should turn green... if the light is off, the rain sensor is off...

I learned that the speedometer has a cruise control marker "bug" that appears when you set the speed.

I learned that the barber pole "red line" marker on the right side of the tach moves to a lower limit when the car is cold and then moves to a higher limit as the engine warms up.

I learned that the stereo's RDS capability sucks. It only remembers the text that was being transmitted when you set the station to memory.

I learned that the logic 7 amp input is a fiber-optic cable from the head unit.

And finally, I learned the easier way to clean the "velvet" trim that runs around the door frame is with a lint roller or masking tape.

Reading this thread I Just learned that "30yrVeteran" gave me the solution of my MP3's problem. It did not matter what I did, the damn radio would not play my MP3's.

I will try the above mentioned to see if it works... Thanks "30yrVeteran"

I just learned the above today. Also you can Reset the Oil/Brake screen after you change them w/o having to take the car to the dealer (You just press the button for 2sec' and keep pressing to move to the field you want to reset then just press once more to reset).

This is good to know if you are out of Warranty or if you take your car for any (oil/Brake/pads/rotors...etc) change somewhere other than the dealer.

Dude its by the front driver side wheel on the fender open the hood should b right there unless your fender was replaced or painted for some reason

I use the Monkey Media program to burn CDs. It allows you to set just about any parameter you want when you burn MP3s. Also, you can edit the "text" displayed on the idrive. Use id3 tags that are 2.1 or lower. It won't recongnize the newer ones.
