I thought I read there were 2 power outlets. The one in the glovebox and another one in the rear of the vehicle?

Would you be kind enough and take some pics of all the power outlets you see...? Anyone? I only see one on the front and the strange looking thing inside the rear cup holder (which does not look like it could be it)

I couldn't convert to the Fraunhofer codec... Did not know how? Did not look for it eather!
What I tried was to burn the MP3 CD using itunes at 2X instead of Max. It tried to play but it did not work.

Anyone else got the MP3 working on the 04 645? Help us pls.

We all have the same iDrive system up to the 09" models (i think) so if they had it working it could work on our 04 as well.

The codec is just 192KBits/sec. iTunes doesn't give many options. Try Monkey Media. You can set just about any parameters.

Downloading Monkey media as we speak. Tried with nero but it did not give me the option.

I have downloaded the Power2Go and it has plenty of options to test so stay tune since I am burning the CD as we speak... 61%... 62%... lol slower than ever...

I also would like to learn more about how to set up the Ipod kit, Can anyone point me in the right direction? Any good DIY around? I've looked but everything is very vague.

Sorry to disappoint you but it did not work. It does not read the disc...
I will keep testing different speeds and bps... I anyone has any other input please help us out. You too let me know if you get anything working.

Experiments using Power2GO:
1) 192Kbps at 10X = FAIL
2) 192Kbps at 24X = FAIL
3) 128Kbps at 10X = TBD
4) 128Kbps at 24X = FAIL
5) HELP... HELP... Run out of ideas

It did not work for me!!! What speed are you using to burn the disc? Help pls' since there are a few of us that would like to get this going.

Like I said, im pretty sure we need to get our iDrive software updated at the dealer

But the owners manual for the 04's says that we are able to play MP3's. It does not specify what type of settings but it shows that we can.

Don't know.

Here is the service bulletin for it though. You could try getting your dealer to do it for you.

I found out there was a flash light in the glove box..

i use nero and never had to worry. you have to get ur idrive updated tho

I discovered how to replace the back spark plugs on my 645.......

Yeah I just found out there was a med kit too about a month ago...lol
