Where in San Diego are decent places to find misc parts? Once in a while I see and find that some little clip is missing or not perfect. I bought this 2001 530i used. I see that when a past owner, ( believe I am the 3rd owner) may have had maintenance done, and either left as small clip off, like one of the cabin air filters is missing a small metal clip that hold it down, near the strut tower. That is one example. And I would like to find these misc pieces, but everytime I go to the stealer to buy a very small item that in reality is only worth 5 cents... they charge about $10.00 I look on Craigs list (which has plenty of weirdos too), but either can't find the parts, or I have to take my chance and drive a long ways hoping they have some small part and they will not want a fortune (or the car ends up not being the right year, or the small parts are missing there too. But, there is only a slim chance for finding the smaller misc parts, for BMW's here, in my area.
Are there any regular junk yards for BMW's in my area I can walk through with a few hand tools? And without being totally screwed by prices? Thanx.. btw. I am in North San Diego County. The bigger junk yards are in South county close to the Mexican border. But, none list any inventories on the Internet. And I am not aware of any that say they stock BMW parts. I appreciate any info.

Autobahn Dismantling Inc.
444 Vernon Way El Cajon, CA 92020 619-444-2290 parts@autobahnparts.com www.autobahnparts.com www.facebook.com/autobahnparts You won't be able to "walk through" though. They dismantle BMW and Porsches and catalog the parts. This isn't like the junk yards you find back east. Not enough space in SoCal! You can contact them about specific parts and also make requests for parts. If they get something in that you're looking for they'll call you.

Autobahn is a great place. But come down to the junkyards by the border on Main Street and Nirvana, you'll most likely find exactly what you're looking for at a low price. There's "Atlas" and "Pick your part", both awesome junkyards.

I have a 17" BMW spare tire on wheel, and it is better than having no spare, but I really need a 16" wheel and tire. 225/55/R16 tire it is I need.
If anyone has one to trade that would be great. I am in San Diego North County. Thanx..
