very nice, congratulations!

i suggest coolant flush, brake fluid flush, transmission oil change, differential oil change, oil change + filter, check air filters and replace if necessary, check brakes and replace if low, tires?, check spark plugs to see if they need replacing and replace if necessary, blinker fluid.

Do you have the M Package?

The first mods to do on any manual trans e39 should be:

1. CDV delete. Go here to read about it. You don't have to buy the modified one, just remove it and reconnect the line. Make sure to clamp the rubber part of the line so you won't have to bleed the system.

2. SSK Some kind of Short Shift Kit. You can spend hundreds of dollars, or you can simply buy a BMW OEM shifter for an E60 545 from a dealer for about $60. It will reduce the throw distance by about 45%. Feels like a BIG change.

3. Drain the trans fluid and refill with Royal Purple Synchromax. Many auto parts stores will have it. ( If not look on the Internet) It cost about $10 per quart. You will only need two. The shortened throw will make the shift stiff and RP Synchromax will cure that.

All three can be done in one afternoon of DIY for less than $100 total, and it will transform shifting from feeling like a bus to that "snick-snick" sports car feel.

Take care of that cooling system and if the radiator hasn't been replaced: Cooling System Overhaul.
Search the forum for detailed instructions.
Oh and congratulations on the car, and welcome to the addiction.

If you mean the M-tech Sport, that was only avail on the 03 model year (in the US). If you are asking is a sport package car, every 6-speed was a sport edition.

Oh I see.
Btw I drove the E60 545 6spd and the throws are really long... It was a 2004 model.
