Valve Cover Gasket and VANOS

Although the leak in my 528i's valve cover gasket isn't very bad, it isn't going to repair itself and will only get worse. So I've pretty much decided to tackle it soon. From what I've read in the Forum doing the valve cover gasket gets you about 90% of the way to doing the VANOS seals. Is that correct? How much more work is it coming from some of you guys who've done it?

Have you visited this site?

I believe you have the single-VANOS system. That requires special tools to align the camshaft.

No, I think it is the double set up. I have looked at that site though and it appears that once everything for the vavle cover gasket is removed there is't a lot left to getting the VANOS off.
