As rare as this car is, I doubt the reserve is less than $60k. It may not sell in this auction due to the economy but these cars are worth MUCH more than the current bid.

supply and demand ...
if you got money right now in this economy you can pick up almost everything at a bargain price
and anyone in the right mind would not pay anywhere close to $60k for a 1980s bmw. you can pick up an F360 for a bit more than $60k and thats a ferrari.
it doesnt matter how much heritage and history is behind the M1, but a proper Ferrari thats 20 years younger > BMW.

mega expensive to repair. A local CCA member (retired BMW dealership owner) has one and had to send the water pump back to Germany for repairs or remanufacture.
