03 745Li - Weird noise (driver side rear)

Hi, When the car is moving a weird noise appears. It sounds like coins rattling in a can. Please Help.

Hi, Thanks for the fast response, would you think it has anything to do with the muffler?

when your car moving or when its just on?

when u are parked and rev up the engine, is the noise there?

if so, it could be your exhaust flap that opens up for the air to go through a second muffler when u get on the gas...

if it does it only when driving, i would look into moving parts that rotate to move the car, like axles, diffs, suspension maybe?

If its when the car is just running i would look into exhaust flap if its when your moving it could be gravel in the backing plate and I've also seen tire press sensors break and rattle in rim.

Does it sound like its coming in from the drivers air vent? Just a stab in the dark, but maybe its engine pinging (pinking) ?

Happens when the engine is under load and when you've got bore wear/rings gone AFAIK.

Pretty common on M52 engine, especially Alpina B3 E46 !

Or else it could be something as simple as a loose anti rattle bracket on your brake discs.

get the car on a lift.
