01 740iL - wont start

I Have a 2001 740il, The Problem I am having is when I put the key in and turn it everything lights up like it's ready to start but the car wont say anything. The Battery is Good, but over the past few weeks i have noticed that when I turn the key it might take a few seconds for the starter to kick in. Please help me locate this problem. Thx

I have a BMW MoDic Diagnostic Computer setup just like the dealer. If you want, we could hook it up and see if we can't get this thing figured out for you.

Shuher-Muher I still have not found out what the problem is. I am gong to take a look at the starter relay if I can find it. I Believe it is something simply, But as soon as I find out I will be sure to let you know what the problem was. Maybe we can solve this together, if you find out what it could be before I do.

you may want to do some simple stuff first like check the battery's amperage output. if its not putting out much amperage, it will sometimes not give enough power to turn the starter or even kick the solenoid out. in this case, you will usually be able to hear the starter click, but not turn the engine over. while still it may be able to run everything else on the car if it holds 12 volts, just not enough amperage. have you tried jump starting the car. make sure you do this correctly though if you decided to try that. using the points under the hood is the only safe way to jump start this car, do not jump start it directly on the battery. it can possibly fry the computer or navigation unit in the trunk, which is a common problem when people jump the battery directly in the trunk.

I checked the Battery and it is fine, I tried jumpstarting it but no luck. I am thinking it may be the starter relay if I can locate that it would be a great help. The starter is not getting power to it.

Does Anyone Have an Idea Of how to tell if the neutral safety switch is gone bad on a 2001 740il?

if the computer is damaged from jump starting is their a test you can perfom THE CAR TRIES TO STARTSINCE THE ENGINE SPINS WHEN THE KEY IS TURNED ON PUT NO GAS OR SPARK.

I have a 95 bmw 750 iL and after a slight hit in the back the car wont start any more. engine cranks nothing happens. Herd of some fuel pump safety switch or something that disables the power to the fuel pump. Did someone herd of something like that? thank you
