Left front floor water leak
In my 2003 X5, I have been experience off and on leaks for 2 years. The water seems to come from the dash and into the far left corner of the foot well. Only happens when it rains pretty hard. Tech eliminated the possibility of it being a leaky windshield through a test. I see the threads on the sunroof, but mine is not panorama. the tech has told me that it is due to a clogged (by tree leaves) drain that builds up and flows over into the foot well. That makes some sense, but do the winshield drains get clogged easily on this particular model? We did use to park underneath a tree at our old house, but that was over 18 months and two drain cleanings ago. It seems that it would have cleared up the problem but it keeps reoccuring

I have had the clogged drains in the windshield ventilation system problem with a Jeep and a Cadillac. With both I had the leaves and crud cleaned out and the problem went away on both cars.

Have you recently replaced the window regulator in the drivers door. If yes check your door drains and your vapor barriers. I had this problem on my E46 and the problem was the door was filling up with water and when it reached the screws on the handle it leaked in there. It took several attempts find this but we are going 4 months without wet carpet.
