DIY: LCI Eyebrow/ LED retrofit to non LCI Models

Hey Fellas,
I wanted to update the front end a bit on the 6er, I bought some Headlights and the 08 LCI eyebrows, I tried to search for the how to and couldn't find any help? So after a few hours of trial and error I got them to light up!
its not the best DIY, i took these pictures for my reference but hopefully they help? also use a basic tester to check for power this helped me so much trhroughout the process. Check the power and grounds regularly to ensure all circuits are in tact, they may get loose during the taping and connecting.

What works is the signals, hazards, alarm alert.
what does not is the led corner lights as running corners.

Slot 1- Blue wire (power)
Slot 2- Brw wire (ground)
Slot 3- Brw/ylw wire (ground)
sSot 4- Blue/brw wire (power)

LEAVE HAZARDS ON TO TEST for blinking.

step 1. remove the bumper, remove the headlamps and theres 3 screws that hold the eyebrow in place. (2 screws in the hood and 1 behind the headlamp.

step 2. cut the 2 signal bulbs and harnesses, theres another harness used for the small corner light i left it un cut and stashed.

step 3. I wired the blue wire to slot 1 (power/signal) and other blue to slot 4 (power) and 1 brw (ground) wire to slot 2 and the other brw (ground) wire to slot 3 . TEST IT.

step 4. after all is workings then solder the tips, heat shrink the wires and black tape them to stay tight and protected.

step 5. put them back on and rejoice.

They are running about $250 each for the front and around $350 each for the rear.

Well done. Yes, the corner LEDs will not work, which sucks.

just updated some colors on wires and placements.

I'm confused in the picture I can see 1 brown with one white wire connected and 1 blue wire with 3 white wires connected but you say

so should it not be 2 wires to the ground and two wires to the power ?

yes, theres several ways of wiring it, theres an option to leave the led's on fulltime theres another to make the signal blink from the side led's, but this Blue and blue brown is power, brown and brown yellow is ground. when you see the harness the slots are numbered thats just for the full led to blink. in the picture above the ground placement lights up different pattern.
all in all there isnt a wrong way to wire it if the ground is placed at #2 or #3 and power going to #1 or #4.

I notice your main headlights are from the LCI version as well. Did you upgrade that portion or was that original?

Rumour has it that if we pre-LCI 6ers upgrade the main headlight portion, the xenon tilting function will not work. Is that true?

thats correct you lose the auto level feature with the LCI or the Euro in which case I had and have. Its not a feature that I care for but the chrome insert thingy majiggs make my heart beat fast

True...love these tiny details...dang...the headlight unit cost a bomb.

Usually some on ebay... when searching, look for "LCI front turn signal" and you'll find them floating around...

They are yellow. This is due to DOT standard. The audi and mercedes have the white LED running lamps but noticed that they are not use for signaling. They all use an amber color for the signals. With BMWs, our running lamps are the angel eyes that you can switch out for whiter bulbs to give you that white light look. I am pretty sure that some company some where is making these LCI signaling lense whith white LED as an after market add on.

after a year are you having any problems with your install?

Hi im a tech in BMW of Costa Rica, (Bavarian Motor) I have one m6 2006 and am installing indicators led, and i do what the graphic above said, but it dosnt work to me, the intermitents are very fast and in the display it indicates me as it was burned, what can I do??? your help will be very helpful to me. thx

Dude, how much did the main headlight cost you to replace? Does it come with autoleveling?

Only buy the direccinales and the stop but they me do not work ignite and go out mul fas and he says to me in the display that the indicators estan burned
