Honestly, I'm not. Being in retail sales myself, I don't think it's nice to waste a salesmans time, and despite the email, I checked their inventory, and they don't seem to have any M3's on the lot to even gawk at.

I registered my first real save with my Redline yesterday. I was driving in town and was over the speedo by 7mph. An unmarked car was behind an SUV and hit the Mustang in front of me with a Ka Instant On (I/O). redline goes NUTS. I hit the brakes and register my first real save.

Now you may say, oh wow only 7mph over?! Norman cops will pull you over for not turning on your blinker when changing lanes, let alone going over 7 mph

This is why I don't drive my M3 in the snow.



Stupid traction control stopped the car in about 2 feet of snow and the stupid thing did not want to move. Luckily the guy whose house I got stuck in front of was nice enough to take out his snow blower and help me out. +1 for manual transmission, -2 for traction control and lowering springs.

On the bright side it made me realize I may need an SUV and 4 wheel drive for next year. X5 anyone?

Posting these in two places because I figured a lot of you guys don't look in OT but would still enjoy this. This just parked in front of my store. Yesterday, the owner was riding a Beemer R1000S. He said the bike is quicker but should run out of puff at about 185 whereas the McLaren should go 205. He hasn't tested either yet. Said he's tracking the McLaren next month.

Random etiquette question: You get an invite to a family member's 30th birthday get-together. It's at a bar/restaurant. They've reserved a side room at the restaurant for the event, about 30 of your friends/family members are there. Do you expect the food and/or booze to be covered by the person sending the invite? Or do you anticipate to pay for your own food/drinks? Do you think its rude or tacky if you show up and have to pay for your own food/drink?

I always intend to pay for myself. I don't think it is tacky if I have to pay for my own food/drink. Generally, you pay for yourself unless you are told by the person inviting you that all costs are covered.

I've just coined a new phrase... Carbon Fauxber ... feel free to pass it around.

One of our dogs is gone....
Our dog Star died early this morning, crossing The Rainbow Bridge to join her siblings and cousins. She was 13, and the last survivor of that litter. God never created a sweeter dog than her....she will be missed. Rest In Peace, my girl....

So sorry to hear that Bob. I know how dogs become part of the family and it's a real family loss when one passes.

Sorry to hear that Bob, just remember the good times you shared with her.
