It'll never be .0

If you want to find the IP address of your home router, bring up a command line, type "ipconfig"

Whatever you see as the "gateway" - that's it.

Its not just every linksys router, but every router for every home network has an internal IP address 192.168.xx.xx. I assume you have either a DSL or cable modem that has a real internet IP address assigned to it by your ISP, either static or dynamic (my DSL modem's static internet IP address starts with 74.102.xx.xx). The 192.168.xx.xx address is strictly for internal use, inside your own home network. My linksys is 192.168.1.1, my dad's belkin router at his house is 192.168.254.1, my netopia router at work is 192.168.1.1, etc.

You should be able to reach your linksys router's internal IP address from any computer on your own network, but there is no way for me, for example, sitting at work to reach your router's IP address from outside your home network.

Kris, I did it and my gateway is 24. 182. xxx. xx. But it does not give me anything. I used to be able to connect to 192.168.1.1 and access my router settings. Now I can't

That's right, Alex! I have linksys and cable modem and can't connect to 192.168.1.1

I think the problem is somewhere in the security settings of the IE or Windows? i know I could do it before. Something happened...It says "web page can not be displayed"...

Hey, Thanks for help guys!

audi has gone the ********* way. first they do the green nazi commercial during the superbowl, then they take on all the luxury car makers. yeah the r8 is a good car, but pulheeze let's wait before you compare one r8 to the whole Ferrari brand.

i'll never buy an audi,

Figured things out with the router. What an idiot I am, the computer was connected to the internet thru modem directly, bypassing the router and I was trying to access the router web page - facepalm. Everything works now!

I don't like that audi commercial either. I liked the bmw commercial around the holidays where they did donuts on what looked like a big ski slope with a 3 series.... I tried to re-create that on the lake the other day... kinda...

audi has had some good commercials in the past... the latest ones, not so much. that 'jump for joy' is unbelievable.

on another note, I have to give up the bmw again tomorrow, my wife gets the car with the snow tires... but I get the turbo volvo!

The best commercial was from huyndai: "same car for 25K less". I has good mood and went to huyndai dealership. Test drove few cars as usually trying not brake at highway ramp. Car was screaming with all tires and almost ready to roll over... Salesman said it not designed to be driven like that. I mention commercial which was pissing me off many month. Likely TV stop to show that commercial in 2 weeks. ; ) So, anybody going to Audi dealership soon?

"People didn't know what it meant to be a champion, Oklahoma invented it." ~ Barry Swizter.

People didn't know what a sports car was, BMW invented it. Suck on that Audi. Audi thinks those ghey LED lights under the headlight makes the car look cool, well BMW invented the idea with the angel eyes on the 3-series.

Well since we're on the topic of commericials, I especially like this one. I don't consider myself a BMW fanboy, but this is a pretty stellar ad campaign they've just begun.
