Hey Technic,

I received your harness... I've decided on not getting the BSWs, because I forgot I still have an amp lying around!

http://www.crutchfield.com/S-W45YSDf...ml#details-tab

From just looking at the manual and figures, looks like the harness will work for the amp; however, I was wondering: the fuse this amp requires is a 50-amp AGU. But I've read a couple of threads suggesting not using AGU amps. What would you recommend? And can you verify that this amp will work with the harness?

Thanks and sorry for bombarding you with questions.

P.S.
Technic, thanks for the fast and speedy transaction and shipping! You bring great customer satisfaction. Thanks again.

Hey Technic,

Need some clarification on the setup.

Please correct me if I am wrong , There are 2 female RCA ends on the harness. Now in a setup where I'm just adding an external amp and trunk sub I would just use Male to male RCA , plug it into the harness female ends and to my amp? Under seat subs will still be powered through logic 7 amp?

Now for a setup where I have already added a trunk sub and amp but want to upgrade under seat subs and power them with another external amplifier , how would the wiring work ?

Would I be splitting the female ends on harness and pass into 2 amps? and If i do so would i have to run the woofer wiring from amp to the cabin or would I have to splice into the harness to send power to under seat subs using the existing wiring?

Hope my question makes sense.

Seems like I should be able to use the harness to send the power to under seat subs , guess will figure it out once i receive the cable.

The harness itself is sub-split into two connectors for the underseat woofer, as shown in this photo: http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho...4&postcount=51

As shown in that photo above, there is a pigtail connector included in the harness/LOC kit. The pigtail is wired to your aftermarket amp outputs to the underseat woofers. Then the pigtail is plugged into the harness sub-connector.

The aftermarket amp will be powering the underseat woofers after that.

I have a 03' X5 with the basic "hifi" 10 speaker no sub setup. Do you have a harness I could use to add in a aftermarket amp and sub? If so how much? Thanks in advance.

I need to see your OEM amp connector to determine if I have something that matches it. This thread is for Logic7 and E60 5-Series HiFi systems from 2004-on.

Hey Technic,

Thanks a lot , your harness saved me a lot of trouble. Worked like a charm.

I do have a question for you though regarding sub and amp , I bought the following subs and amp .

Amp --- http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/produ...?itemid=233190

Sub's --- http://www.amazon.com/Rockford-Fosga...8318756&sr=8-1

I am not really happy with the output. I mean I have the bass but it isn't great and tight. Its Boomy. I would like to have a setup with Clean and tight bass, also would like the ability to turn it loud when showing off So just wanted to get your opinion what Amp and sub/subs would you recommend. I still have plenty of time to return my current Subs and amp.

Pics of Dynamat trunk & installation coming soon.

Again Thanks a lot for the Harness man Great job.

You need to compensate/tune somehow your total system for the new sub inclusion. If you kept a high level of bass adjustment at your OEM HU/iDrive then the new sub may sound boomy like that.

Does anyone have pictures of the harness installed and does anyone have a diagram or pictures of where the seat subs are located. Only reason I ask is my installer who is also a friend is putting my sub in Friday and I want my original amp powering the factory subs in the seats and not the logic. So want to kind of a have an idea where they are just in case he doesn't know thanks. Also how did people tune their logi 7 head unit to get the best sound in addition to the sub they installed? Thanks.

The underseat woofers are located... under the front seats.

The Logic7 harness includes a sub-connector that allows the underseat subs to be powered by the OEM amp after the addition of a trunk sub. No need to rewire anything. That's the harness standard configuration: http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho...4&postcount=51

Thanks.

I just wanted to thanks Technic for the harness. My installer got it put in he did things a little different by tapping into the underseat subs for the signal but everything works great. For those of you who think the noise cancellation in our cars hurt the bass it doesn't. My 15" along with the stock clarity is awesome. The only thing I hate is that the head unit in our cars doesn't go all that loud leaves a little to be desired. Thanks again Tech.

Just got my first BMW, '07 328xi sedan with Logic 7. I have been frustrated with what I believe to be the processing of the Logic 7 amp. The sound seems to fade in and out in a subtle way in Logic 7 "Music" mode. When I turn Logic 7 off there are no issues so I believe it to be how the Logic 7 processor is working. I am on my second amp as the dealer replaced the first one for me. Similar issues with second amp although not as bad. Is this normal? If so, I might need a Technic harness to upgrade to the JBL MS-8 as it sounds like that is optimal. Please provide some feedback on this issue so I can point myself in the right direction for upgrades.

First, you will replace one Logic7 with another Logic7 processor. Second, the harness that I sell will have to be modified to add the MS-8, it is not PnP.

Please PM for details and price.

Thanks Technic for the harness! My 7 sounds like it should now! I also appreciate the fast shipping, even with the holiday I had it on day 3 of order! I'm very pleased!

Yes, as long as it is a 20-pin/9ch black connector at the OEM amp.

Is your X5M equipped with the Individual Audio/16-speaker system?
