Did anyone try this on the F25?

Nope, I haven't tried it on my F25 yet. I'm nervous about unplugging the harness from the amp. This isn't going to throw off any warnings that I'll have to return to the dealer to get reset right?
I'm starting coding on the vehicle now, but I'm nervous to just start unplugging wires. I've done a ton of car audio installs, just not on a vehicle as computer controlled as the F25. The amp according to the part list looks very similar to the x5 and other vehicles. I think it's the same thing..Anyone can confirm this for sure? |

Any risk unplugging the amp connector? Is this going to set off any warnings on the computer as long as the vehicle is off?

If the OEM amp is analog -non-Premium systems- then the main connector can be unplugged regardless of the car being on or off. There are no data lines/fiber optic cables in the analog OEM amps. In other words, any OEM amp connector can be unplugged without errors if the car is off. Just make sure that the car is still off when it is plugged back in for safeguard of all the components. |

Ok all. Disconnected on my '12 X3 F25 with premium sound. There were three connectors on the amp. One large one, and two smaller (that look like power?)
Here are pics of the connectors, and the connections on the amp. Thoughts on if this sub adapter will work? ![]() ![]()

Thanks.
Your OEM amp is a much higher power-output version than the "regular" Logic7/Premium sound systems. The telltale is the separation of the power and ground signals from the 20-pin connector. You can see that the first photo (20-pin connector) is missing 2-pins, and in your second photo you have a 2-pin connector by itself. The third connector is the MOST fiber optics. With all that said, my Logic7 harness 20-pin connector and the pin assignments will match to your OEM amp connector. However there will be no remote turn on provided by the LOC as it requires the 12V and the ground to be at the 20-pin, and the LOC (line output converter) itself needs to be upgraded to an Audiocontrol LC2i ( http://rs.audiocontrol.com/company_38//LC2i_OM.pdf ) because of the higher output (100W+/20V+ peaks) of your woofer OEM amp outputs. The LC2i may or may not provide the remote turn on signal as this high-power OEM amp type uses a different power supply and voltage configuration than other OEM amps that makes the signal sensing circuit of any aftermarket device useless. Please PM for pricing details if interested. Quote:

Are there any other BMWs that have this type of amp system? Anyone have experience with an LCI2 or something like it?:
http://www.crutchfield.com/g_318850/...rocessors.html I basically only need a 12V remote lead to get this working with your harness. Is this system similar to the 7 series with MOST like I've read previously? |

Hi Technic,
New to this forum. I have a 2012 E92 with Harman Kardon and iDrive. I'm finding the bass lacking after initially being impressed. I wanted to go the BSW underfloor sub route but the shipping costs to the UK is stupid. So the next option for me is a regular trunk sub and amp. Could I request one of your harnesses please? |

Ok so I made a call to Audiocontrol, maker of the LC2i and they confirmed none of their products will auto turn on using the signal sensing feature when it receives a subwoofer signal. It has to be a full range/higher frequency sound.
So the question is: Technic- do you have any harnesses that are similar to this one that instead of the subwoofer line out, would provide a high range signal? It freaks me out a bit to tap into the factory wires to get the high pass signal. I'd probably have to use a 6 channel audiocontrol unit to sum all the channels together to get the subwoofer channel. Any ideas on how to do this? I'd like to get a sticky written with this info for everyone with the new 2011+ X3 F25. |

I do not sell any other Premium/Logic7 harness than the one in this thread, sorry. If you are planning to add a trunk sub/amp then there is no need to sum any signals. The harness already have the correct wires/connectors for the required signals and the remote line can be tapped at the back of your iDrive unit (at pin 13, thin black wire). That's all you need. |

Technic- Any idea which color wires would be the rear speakers for the F25? If I can figure out exactly what I'm doing/if it can be done to add an LCI2, I will be pick up a harness. Looks like it's been done on a '11+ E92 M3

There is no bass in the front/rear/center speakers in your F25 -they are all high passed. All the bass -low passed- signals are in the underseat woofers.

Harness
Hi. My 320 has the logic 7 system in it and I would like to install an amp and a couple of subs in the trunk. I've been browsing for days in different forums trying to find a good solution and your harness seem to be the best solution there is. Clean and doesn't tamper with or damage the original system.
So a few questions: So can you make a harness for my 320? If so how much is it? Do I need to reprogram the system after the harness has been installed? And finally how do I order? |
