Phone ringer too loud

Does anyone know how to turn down the blue tooth incoming phone call ringer volume? It scares the crap out of me everytime someone calls me. Can it be unlinked from the stereo volume?

This very nearly caused me to wreck the other night! I was carefully turning on a slick side road when the phone rang. It startled me just enough to cause a slight jerk of the wheel, and the tires broke loose on the icy pavement. Luckily it was a non-issue as there was no on-coming traffic, but the volume was ridiculous!

I haven't been able to adjust this either, but the volume is so extreme, I'm going to keep the bluetooth off until I can figure out how to fix it.

I'm guessing that if the volume knob is turned down WHILE the phone is ringing, it will reset the level for future calls. At least this is how Navi volume control works on every BMW we have had... Haven't tried it yet though (my focus has been on climbing back down from inside the moonroof during every previous opportunity to test this theory)

Do that.

Volume knob while ringing will adjust volume and will also adjust in call volume.

Problem is that when you turn the volume down for the ringer, then it is hard to hear the caller. Also scares the hell out of me when I get a phone call. BMW may have to do a software fix for this

Turning the volume down while the call is ringing did the trick, but I agree that the callers voice is then a little too soft. I'm OK with this for now until a software update comes along. At least I wont have a heart attack when the phone rings. Thanks for the info!!

Mine doesn't seem that loud... or am I deaf?

Mine isn't loud anymore. It must have been set to loud when I got the car, and I just never figured out how to decrease the volume until this thread started. The upgraded sound system probably only makes it louder still.
