Wheels Cross-reference

Is there some place to look to see what style wheels come with a particular model? I looked but didn't see this on the BMWNA website.

Specifically I'd like to know what comes with these:

325i
325i SP

330i
330i SP

And is this the same for the 2002-2003 model years?

No volunteers yet? I'll start off by saying I'm pretty sure my 2002 325i SP has type 96 wheels.

Didn't they change the wheels mid term for the 2003 330i ?

I know the sport package wheels for the 2002 & 2003 330i & 330Ci are M68's
The 18" option available only for all of 2002 & the first half of 2003 330i & 330CI were the M72's
- The non sport 330i were 73's for the first half of 2003 and all of 2002

It's a flaw I DO have -- I get obsessive some times. But I wasn't really that impatient. I just wanted to indicate I knew my car had type 96s which I figured out by looking at this link somebody else posted:

Okay for 2002 I have:

325i Type 45
325i SP Type 96

330i Type 73
330i SP Type 68

At least that's what they started with.

BTW, I DID find wheel info on the BMWNA site -- I just hadn't drilled down far enough.

unfortunately BMW has never been very keen on keeping detailed records about wheels relative to models, it's always been an issue of sorts and they offer a wide variety of wheels as dealer-installed options through the parts dept,

as an example if you bought a 1995 BMW E36M3 and opted for the forged wheels, there is no documentation that says whether they were all 17 x 7.5 size all around same as the std 95 M3 wheels, or whether they were the staggered 17 x 7.5/8.5 sizes like on the M3 LTW & '96+ E36M3. Well they were in fact the staggered sizes but the only way to actually prove it was to have bought one. It took me several years of nagging before I finally got BMW NA Motorsports to write a letter stating this to serve as documentary proof for running the staggered sizes on a 95 M3 in the SCCA Stock class.

Of course with the newer vehicles they keep a detailed database and simply using the vehicle SN pulls up the wheel info that was actually supplied by the factory and the parts CD now lists the wheels that came on a particular model for the appropriate sales market (US, CDN, etc)

further, with reference to wheels that were available on an E46 3er, you have to break it down to the various model types

Coupe
Sedan
Touring
Convertible

in some cases the wheel types between model types may overlap and be identical, but not always depending on option packages etc. Anyways, the parts data listing separates them this way.
