Secondary air injection

1999 740il. I am trying to troubleshoot my secondary air injection and have found several helpful threads, but I need a help with a couple things. The bypass valve is working, meaning I disconnected the air hose from it and started the car and the valve opened and after about 10 seconds it closed like it should, but the air pump is not coming on. I hotwired the pump and it works fine. I checked the fuses on the passenger side of the engine compartment and they all look good. I have read threads that the fuse is located behind the glove box, others that say it is under the passenger seat and others that say there is a relay. Can someone shed some light on this for me? Where is the fuse, and is there a relay? Thanks!
