How much should I charge for Style 81 E39 wheels?

As the title says, I have a set of mint E39 wheels.
They are the style 81's (seven spoke). Excellent condition with minimal to no curb rash...

here are a few pics. Just let me know what I should be asking for them? Tires are shot (showing threads)...

thanks guys... im new to BMW pricing.

16 or 17s?

more if they are 17 inch...I don't know what size they would have come in, but people want 17 plus these days.

Pretty sure those are 17s from the 525 SP, correct? I think you should be able to find someone to take them for $300-$400. I'd try asking $400 to start, but be happy if you get $300. Agreed those are a tough sell, esp on this board. Might try Roundel Classifieds if you're a CCA member. As a point of comparison I recently sold my bolted cross spokes (17s, style 42) for less than $300, though they were in need of refinishing.

The problem with our cars is that the odd hub size means you can't just take the wheels and bolt them on to an older (or newer) BMW, which obv tends to limit the market.

Sure you can...just use hub centering rings. However, I would not go through the trouble for the Style 81's. The problem is going from any other BMW wheel to the E39 - even then it can be overcome using adapters/spacers if one chooses that route.

Point taken, but it's still not take off bolt on, you need extra hardware.

True dat! Funny thing is that I have seen a few people do this exchange without realizing the hub-centering rings are necessary, and then wonder why the new wheels/tires shake so bad.

I paid $420 shipped (CA -> NY) for mine without tires last spring. I use them as my winter set. I personally like them a lot and searched for awhile to find them. They are not that common. I think they give the car a much newer look.

OP good luck on the sale, maybe try ebay - you might get more than what you would get on here!

Hard to say, put them on Ebay and let the market pick the price. I like the look, but many do not, only for the fact that it "marks" you car as a 525, since that was the wheel used for the Sport Package option only on the 525.
