Vibration when in gear and at complete stop

When my car ('99 318i) is in the drive or reverse gear there is vibration which i feel on the steering and dashboard, even the seats. However, when i put the gear in neutral or park , the vibration stops, when in drive or reverse if I increase the throttle by just a bit the vibration stops. No vibrations when driving. How serious will this problem be?
Thanks in advance

Crankshaft vibration damper sounds suspect.

there could be a couple of things.....

if you can feel the vibration on the wheel, and you can feel the vibration on your pants as well, its from your mounts. now if its your engine mounts, transmission mounts, or drive shaft disk, im not sure because idk which ones are torn up or not. but im confident that its your engine mounts. and also have you changed your fuel filter? (if your car has one).

Thanks guys, took it to garage, they said its normal, they are very mild vibrations which were not there before. Interestingly today I didnt get any, seems to be very random...driving me nuts..no filters changed, oil service and filters changed 3.5k miles ago (almost 2 months).
My m8 has an X5, he too had these vibrations...going to the dealer on Monday will post update when checked.

Hv a nice weekend all
Cheers.

My car does the same thing. Not exactly sure why it happens. I bought the car a couple of months ago and it has been in the shop the majority of the time. Not exactly sure, what service schedule the car has been through before my ownership. Someone told me probably engine mounts?

Does anyone know the solution to this if it is the engine mounts?
