Here are two more shots from Lime Rock last fall (although not taken with a cell phone)

I think the blue one may be the same one that was at Boca.
I got to drive the black one and I actually thought about you because I remember when you posted a picture of one a while back and mentioned how much you liked it.

Jaguar is the sponsor of the Lime Rock Historics and they alway have their finest on display,
Ms. Audo did a couple of hot laps around the track in an XKR-S with 24 hour of LeMans winner Davy Jones.

Spotted this on the way home tonight. 1928 Stutz. Probably has over 500 lbs of chrome parts on it.

I have a fair amount of experiece behind the wheel of an XKR (Mrs Audio has one) and I really like that car. It has a great balance between performance and luxury and handles poor surfaces better than my 335i with sport suspension, Koni FSD shocks and non-RFTs. It is an order of magnitude better than the 335i was with the RFTs and the stock dampers.

The XKR-S is a hard core version of the XKR (sort of an XKR on steroids) but still very civilized. I drove the XKR-S on the roads around Lime Rock which are typical New England Twisties. The car was very civilized and docile but when pushed it was a beast. Amazing power and grip and I was nowhere close to its limits which like most modern high performance cars can't really be explored responsibly on public roads. The transmission is a planetary geared automatic with paddle shifters and is for all practical purposes indistinguishable from the DCTs in the M3s. I suppose that the DCT would be better for hard core track use but neither of those cars would be something I would be interested as a track car anyway.

The XKR-S was designed as a very high performance GT car and that is exactly what it is. The interior is very luxurious, the seats are great (the rear seats are for all practical purposes nicely upholstered package shelves) and it is a really spectacular car and (particularly in the French Racing Blue color a real head turner.

Almost 80k for destination and handling charges!?!? That is mind boggling, what could they possibly do in that process to justify 80k? I don't even care if I had all the money in the world, I would still ask why? Can someone educate me? Is it just a percentage of the MSRP?
