I love Moroccan food. Too bad I can't find any decent ones here in NYC.

There was once a little authentic restaurant in the Village, then it was closed in less than a year. Strange, because every time we went, they were almost full and busy.

Moroccan food is probably one of the best yummiest cuisines out there.

Moroccan food is probably one of the best yummiest cuisines out there.

This restaurant was at the Royal Mirage Hotel which to me looked like a 6 Star Hotel. The food was really amazing. Restaurant was fully packed. One thing that really sucked though was I was unable to finish the food and has wanted to take the remaining couscous back at the end so I could enjoy the rest in my hotel room when I got hungry again only to be told that the hotel policy does not allow take away from restaurants. I was pretty pissed because of this at the end because it was that good and they would not allow me to take the remaining with me of which I had paid for. Otherwise all was great..

Funny thing that you posted these picture because couscous is maybe the ONLY Moroccan that I am not crazy about.

It always chokes me. After about 4 tablespoons of that, I am stuffed. I can't eat any more.

One of my best friend in high school was of Moroccan parents, and I used to hang out with him after school plenty of times. They always raved about their couscous, offered me, and I always politely declined. Anyway, one day I was REALLY hungry, his mother just finished making it and she was serving him his plate while we were sitting at the diner table doing our homework together. They all started offering me again and again (you know how it is), and when I said that I have never had couscous, that was the end of it, they were relentless (again, you know how it is. LOL). So I said OK. She gave me a soup plate piled high with fluffy couscous with some meats and vegetables on top. I took 3-4 bites and I was choked. I could not for the life of me take one more spoon. His mom almost killed me.

My friend was beside himself. Needless to say, that was the last time they pushed me to eat there.

the atmosphere on the inside is truly amazing.

This city Dubai amazes me. From Kuwait to Dubai Emirates airlines has 7 daily flights which are full (that's Emirates airlines alone!!), from Bangkok to Dubai it has 5 flights a day of which are also full but more like overbooked (and that's Emirates airlines alone as well). While others are suffering and dying in this region this city is booming.

Thanks, but... this is the second funny thing that you said about Dubai....

Because if I am in Dubai, I don't think they are going to let me out... 'nuff said...

And this may seem to completely contradict what I've just said, but I know the previous UAE ambassador to the US and I've been to his home in NYC and spoke with him a couple of times.

EDIT: Oh, and this is also funny. I have also been to the apartment of the Moroccan ambassador in NYC and spoke with his wife... ROFL. But no Moroccan food there, she asked me if I wanted something to drink, I politely said no. She nodded to a male maid at the door, and 30 seconds later he silently reappeared to my side, handing me a half glass of mango juice.
