What is going on in Munich on the week of April 19th?

Does anyone know? I am trying to book a room for my ED and forget the price, I can not even find a room. I might need some serious help from the ED gurus for a place to stay or even go outside of the city.

I am scheduled to arrive in Munich on April 21st, pick up the car on the 22nd and stay in Munich through Saturday. Can't find a room unless I am willing to pay 700 Euros a night....

Do a search for priceline threads, I think this was discussed there. Some heavy equipment convention of sorts I believe.

Sorry man, there is a convention going on. That is why I am picking up my car and getting out of town after my bmw factory tours

Bauma - largest heavy equipment convention in the world.

Probably best to get out of town like Yay-Z is doing.

Or reschedule your delivery date.

The rates for May 5th to May 8th at the Four Points by Sheraton, are 83 EUR to 135 EUR daily. This hotel is a short walk to the BMW Welt.

Thank you guys. I am inquiring about rescheduling my delivery date to April 29th? I hope it is not a big deal to do this.

Yep - BAUMA. I will be there exhibiting. BAUMA occurs every third year, and it is always tough (and expensive) to secure hotel rooms, eat in restaurants, etc during this 10 day event. We secure our hotel reservations for the next BAUMA (three years out! ) as we are packing up and leaving Munich.

My ED is 4/24, I snuck in a reservation at the Nh Airport for 80 Eu. about a month ago, but you're right, the rooms are few and expensive. I'm heading to Salzburg right after pickup for a few days, then coming back to Munchen just before we leave. I would have preferred to push my date back beyond May 1 in hopes of getting better lease rates, but we've already booked rooms (non-refundable) so, "it is what it is". Now I just wanna drive. . .

we got apartments instead of hotels a month ago for like €150
hotels were like 300-400...couldn't find any on priceline back then for for under €200
bad timing indeed.

Problem Solved Thanks to ED Department. My new pick up date is April 29th :-)

No rooms available on the 29th at the Four Points Hotel. I guess the convention is still going on.

You can modify and search for different dates than May 5th to May 8th I suggested in my previous reply. Just click on the calendar icon on the left of the page. Then click reset calendar.

Thank You for the link. BUMA is taking place April 19th - 25th. I was able to locate hotels through different sites w/ no problems.
