Transmission (Gears started shifting at higher rpm)
This has happened thrice before at different times.
What happens is that gears shift quite normally during everyday commute (1 hour to and from work) but if the car gets a continuos run for lets say, more than 2 hours, suddenly the transmission down shifts to 3rd gear and would only upshift if the revs goes beyond 4000.
This doesnt happens everyday but at an uneven pattern. What i noticed linked with this issue is the hidden menu (outside temp) reading which shows 50C when this stupid gear shifts begin.
I have to leave the car parked and off overnight to get the normal transmission working. Something warms up somewhere in the transmission or the sensor gives a false outside temp reading (its never 50C outside in this time of the year) that makes transmission act weird.
Below in this pic these are the readings on the dash when this problem starts. As you can see, normal outside temp is 33C but on hidden menu it says 50C. It creeps up really quick on the hidden menu and thats when downshift occurs all of the sudden at 50C
I have tried changing gears in manual mode but upshift wont work once transmission starts behaving like such. Yes, but it would downshift. First gear it will downshift to is the M3 or the third gear. Any upshift will occur after 4000rpm.
Now i have scanned the fault codes and it does not have any transmission error. Although, there is one E-Box 27A0 code that shows and im thinking that the failed cooling fan for the ECUs lets computers go hot beyond their normal operational temp. This might cause transmission to behave weird. Im not sure and these could be totally two different problems.
I need advice here and suggestions.
