How do I know if I have the guibo problem

Just curious,
i dont have any rough craziness like someone rear ended me, but what i can say is that i have some rough shifts sometimes,,, or lets say,, it isnt as smooth as i would expect i think from the second to third and vice versa.. does this mean i have the guibo issue you guys refer too?

i recall one time only getting the rearended feeling and i dont think it has happened again..

advice?

i was reading soem threads on transmission resets by turning the car on but not sstarting it then pressing the pedal all the way down for 25 second. this in theory should smooth out the tranny shifts.. i will try this as soon as i leave my office and see how it goes.. but feel free to chime in... im approaching the 40k mile mark which means i have 10 k left to irritate the dealership before they start charging me 50 dollar deductables to irritate them in which case ill think twice and try to gather all of my concerns to be adressed all at once instead of randmly showing up and taking casre of things on a need to deal with basis..

also... the damn windsheild wiper fluid tank must be leaking... i used it mabey 3 times after i filled it to the rim and now its telling me im low on fluid.. that cant be... !

This is my video of a bad steering coupling. If your car does this and it doesn't turn you have a bad coupling.

I should have reference pictures up tonight of the windshield wiper fluid tank and its connections (I took them the other day while I had the bumper dropped for headlight sanding).

well one sure way to know is...jack the car up and inspect it.

if you know an indy that has a lift and knows a thing or two about bimmers, they can do it for you. put it on the lift, get their long little mirror thing, move the aluminum splash guard aside (that's why you should know what you're doing because it's not just hanging out in plain sight, you have to know where it is)

tell your indy it's the "flex joint" that's a way more common term that every decent auto mechanic knows. not everyone knows what a "guibo" is

1bad:-D I wouldn't take a buyback if they offered me it right now. Wil is right, I am a little paranoid and every problem I read about I think o try to simulate it in my car lol. I probably woulda taken the buyback of I had a white on grey interior though....

I'm very very very particular when it comes to my car, anyhow I did the tranny reset and the shifting is alot cleaner, and I really discovered the sports mode option yesterday as I did Some traveling into the city.

I do have to take it in to get the winshield wiper tank checked out. I used it several times after a complete fill and I'm getting the damn bell and error to refill it. That can't be right??

i am in absolute love with the new body styles 7ers .... they seem smaller or more compact i think?? i wouldnt even mind geting an Li.

i must say though, i have been randomly stopping at bmw dealerships to see if they have any 09 models and these cars are non existent as cpos at this point. however, i did test drive a number of them, and they are very nice.. but if i were to line up my model and the f01-02 each one has certain things i like and admire, it is my opinion that the e65 has a more luxurious tone while the F01-02 leaves a japanese aftertaste in my mouth in a really nice way.

i know alot of you guys on this forum finance these cars, and i never was to excited about the idea of leasing or financing, but ive been tinkering with the idea of leasing one and building it to spec... my current 7 series is in my opinion the most beautiful car i have ever owned period, and even if i were to buy a brand spankin new 7 i dont think id get the wow factor i get from my current e65.. haha .. seems like im rambling,,

i have been lurking on the f01-02 forum to see everyones experience, and another thing that has me thinkign twice is, the reason im looking so early for another car is because this one seems a bit high maintenance especially since im using it as a daily driver, and the new models dont seem to be any less high maintenance..All in all, every time i get into my car i still get that excited feeling which is obviously good sign.. Not to mention, it seems to have the key to the hearts of females lol .... sorrry all you married guys :-\ i will keep you guys updated on the car situation but for now, and for the next quarter im sure ill still be an e65 man

slick44, you have the giubo joint problem. or at the very least the dealer will say that is the problem. the transmission reset you performed is very temporary and the hard shifts will be back real soon. guaranteed!!!!
