Sirius Advice/Suggestions Request...

Can anyone suggest or post a pic of the mounting location for the OEM BMW Sirius receiver in a non nav and non DSP E39?

I have the CD Changer and the Bluetooth module (with the small amp with that works with it) and the regular audio amp in the Trunk Devices area now. Its pretty full back there...I can not imagine where/how to mount the Sirius moule?

Also, has anyone used the bracket(s) (BMW Part #: 84 11 0 141 975)? Would this work in my case? I can post a pic of current setup if needed.

Finally, Does anyone know the difference betwen the cables:
(BMW Part #'s: 84 11 0 150 526 Vs. 84 11 0 141 978)
Would they both (either one) work with my CD Changer?

Can not seem to find much info online about Sirius installed in the E39 for some reason.
Does anyone have any pics of any of these installed or unstalled and willing to post them?
Thanks!

This is how mine is installed, along with the ULF. Probably not 100% ideal, but no issues in the three years I've had it in there.

As far as the cables go, I know there's a way to have the changer and the Sirius, this is how it was in my E53. But I'm sure those cable #'s were different.

Thanks for the post and pic! I have a CD Changer in mine so I don't know if it would fit between that and the amp. Do you think it could squeeze in there?

Is that the bracket in your pic that I was asking about? If so, does that mean the bracket would not work if there is a cd changer installed or does it fit around it?

Yes the cables are for retaining the CD Changer along with the Sirius receiver (at least as far as I can tell). In the reference I saw The first one I posted shows for the E39 and the second one shows for the X5. I just wondered if they would be interchangable or both (either) work in the E39. The reason I ask about that is because I have the one for the X5 already and did not know if I would need the other one. Its hard to find detailed information like what the actual differences in the cables are.

That's the "official" Sirius bracket, but I had to make it fit. I think it's supposed to piggyback off the changer bracket, which I didn't have. Not sure if it'll fit with the changer as I've never had one in this car.

There's no doubt that the X5 cable will work; it'll just be very long for this situation. The changer mounts in the same place in the E53 but the Sirius mounted under the spare tire.

Great...Thanks Spydrz! Thats good news about the cable...something I dont have to buy for a change! Plus it sounds like I will have some flexibility in mounting with a longer cable if I can't fit it right there. Cables are easy enough to coil up!

I do think I would like to try the bracket. Especially if it attaches to the CD changer bracket. That seems to imply it should fit with the CD Changer (I hope so anyways)...Does anyone know for sure about that?

Forgot to ask...Where did you mount your antenna? I have been thinking about inside on the rear deck above the third (center) brake light. Don't want to stick it on the body outside. I have heard it works under the rear deck also and even under the trunk lid in the corner...is this true?

Thanks again!

Not the best pic, but it's mounted on the CHMSL housing. Used to have it on the center attachment point for the child seat but I had to move it when I installed my power rear shade.

Looks like above the brake light? Thats where Im leaning towards putting it. What is CHMSL?

Have you heard of anyone with simultaneous hookups with CD Changer, Sirius and IPod interface through CD Changer cable? I dont think you can get all 3 can you?

Would also be nice to have a USB input but have not seen one for the business cd setup has anyone else?
