Photos: 2011 550i and 2011 535i from NYIAS today in NY

F10 535i and 550i showed at the ny auto show today.

Now let's see that M5!
I liked space gray over the much darker sophisto, but these pics make me change my mind.

The sophisto grey is so rich and has so much depth, I love the purple blue tint from the metallic specks.

Will this be the Dark Graphite Metallic as per the US ordering guide?

Yes, they are one and the same. BMW color code A90. Confusing to me too, since they almost always reference the European Sophisto Grey as the color name!

I always wondered the same. Thanks for clearing that one up

The more i look at the car the more i like it but this gap is one thing i can't get over.
I guess we will see how it looks in person.

Did not notice that gap so much before, but now when I really looked (stared) at it you are right, it is quite large!

A lot of these pics are taken from a thigh/knee level so that would make the gap seem bigger than what you'll really see in real life which is a more top down view when you're standing closer to the car.

Nice try but i also looked at my cars the same way to compare and it is more of a gap.

It might look terrible, it might not. Looking at pictures won't tell you the answer.

I've seen numerous times a color referred to as "sophisto". Is that the "Dark Graphite Metallic"? The BMW color options on the internet do not include the term "Sophisto". Great pictures from the NY show.

Yes, in the US it's called dark graphite metallic, in Europe it's called Sophisto.
