2011 Five series Dealer Pricing?
I have reviewed the price information on this site and am ready to order the car. However, the dealer is telling me that they don't have pricing information yet. I have asked for their "best price." They say that as soon as the information is available, they will give it to me. This is a dealership from which I have purchased both and 08 and an 09 335i. I like them and want to maintain a good relationship.
Is anybody out there getting actual numbers from a dealer? Or just percentage off list or amount over invoice? I want the actual numbers. Both 535 and 550 look fantastic to me. Will probably go with 550. |

You should use the search function and read the other posts. There are 3 posts here that shows the pricing for the 535 and 550. Pricing was revealed 2 weeks ago.

So far, not reports on dealer negotiations other than "2% less than list price." But no dollar amounts on prices posted. Does anybody have a dollar amount on a price FROM A DEALER? |

I spoke to one delaer here in Florida concerning the 2011 535i and he said that the "mark-up" is 6% only, I assume this is the difference between the MSRP and dealer invoice.
When asking him about the best offer he could do, the dealer replied that 2% max. can be deducted off the total vehicle sale price. Another florida dealer said that he cannot offer any discount on the new series. |

I think that would be approx. $2K over invoice?

Joe, I've had the same dealings with dealers around the Seattle area when I was shopping around to order my 2011 X5 back in mid February. They essentially gave me the same story, when I already had the invoice pricing sheets via a local dealer. When I informed them of this, they would shift their story and feign ignorance. You're better off dealing with dealers around the Portland area. Some of them post of these forums, and I believe one of them is a fest sponsor. Good luck, needless to say that I won't be ever be dealing with any of them in your region (Bellevue and BMW of Seattle).

I would assume on a new model they expect early on a better profit margin. But I figure for a BMW dealer given their costs on dealership etc...a price over invoice of $1000-1500 is fair. But in my experience one dealership I went to when looking at my 650i, the slaesman gave a strong sense it was my privilege to get a car from him. What a moron.
When I got the car I went only through the internet sales and avoided my salesman at the dealership(a different one) where I got my 530i in 2004. I told them I had got a an offer from a BMW delarship in Atlanta which was true and if they matched the price, I would get the car from them or I would got to atlanta and drive it back. They were happy to keep the sale and matched the price. So look around and be aggressive with them, they will be that way with you. Be prepared to walk away. In the Tampa area there are 3 dealers close enough to deal with. Plus you have Orlando too. I would not be afraid to get a car at any dealership on the East or West coast if they give me a fair price.

Oops but remember it is a business and they need some profit to function as well. Be fair and you can build a relationship and down the raod it may help with another purchase. I was respectful but honest, when I told what I could get elsewhere. When I went into the dealership we had a verbal agreement and I did not try to reneg. but went and placed a deposit so it was easy and fast. Since I stuck to our deal they did with no issue as well.
Since they spent little time on the sale, they made fast and easy money. Plus they kept a repeat customer and they get all my service work. T he dealership is Lakeland Fields, their service dept is fair as well. For ex., I brought in my 2003 530i which was out of warranty for a check engine light. I was expecting some O2 sensor or something and at least a $1000 bill...but all they could find was my gas cap seal was worn and I need a new gas cap....cost was diagnosis fee and gas cap. I was amazed, they could have listed off several things that are very costly. They have a customer who now tells everyome how fair and honest they are. Which is priceless.

Has anyone had any luck getting any discount on the new 535? Not expecting much, but curious if anything is possible. Houston not looking very good.

@ bud
Hey,
I'm also from Tampa and considering buying the 2011 535i via ED. Would you recommend your CA at Fields/Lakeland? Maybe he can make the order for me as well. Mind sharing how low your concluded purchase was? $xxx above ED invoice I presume?? Or $000 below ED MSRP?? Thanks for any info sharing. |

It seems that Texas dealers have been consistently higher than some of the other larger markets. If you guys aren't opposed to getting better deals outside of Texas, might want to look at the LA area. Two dealers from that area post here on the forums and have given good deals for a few people from your neck of the woods. I personally have dealt with Will Shaw from Nick Alexander BMW in LA.

I think overall the economny in Texas never got as bad as elsewhere in the country, so the demand is pretty high. That being said, there were 2 dealers in Houston who were willing to discount a $1,000 off MSRP (or about $3,000 over invoice), and a few who would also throw in free window tinting. Both dealers had already sold almost all of their current allocation.

I got 800 dollars above invoice for my 5 series. I put a deposit for a 535xi version coming in the fall. I am in the midwest. We have loyalty member bonuses at our BMW dealership.

This thread is a prime example as to why BMW Euro Delivery makes so much sense when a new model comes out.

Sure is. If I didn't have a wife and toddler at home I'd probably do ED. I can't take family with me, and my wife woudl kill me if i went on a European vacation and left her at home with a toddler.
