Locating the 2002 525i fuel filter

I need someone who have experienced replacing the fuel filter for 2002 525i..to tell me where it's located.. can't find it by looking under the car. Thanks

It's there. It's on the driver's side under the car and under a plastic cover that will require you to remove about 4-5 screws. Take my advice on this one. Mark with a sharpie your in/out lines and don't get them crossed up.

Under the chassis, your Left Butt area.
Remove the Plastic Cover, you will see it.
Take note, diagram, take pic so you don't mess it up.

Thanks for your help. I got a few suggestions of where the fuel filter is located, and this one is from pelicanparts.com..I just don't want to pull the back seat out trying to locate the fuel filter.

I'm pretty sure that the fuel filter is located in the fuel tank, integrated with the fuel pump. You would need to remove the rear lower seat to access the covers \.

4. Besides the fuel filter, I only ordered replacement clamps. However, I would recommend ordering new expanding rivets and the c-clip, some were damaged when removing the access panel. My hoses were in good shape but probably better to order replacements too.
5. With engine off and fuse removed--I was unpleasantly surprised that the fuel was still under high pressure when disconnecting hose from filter . I recommend vice grips, to clamp the hose, and wearing goggles.
6. For a budding DIYer, it really is satisfying to complete this job myself--this forum has been indispensable.
