As I enter the first Summer of ownership, I wanted to see what suggestiosn forum mmembers had regarding the above question - does AC and proper vent setting work? any advice on vent settings, etc.?

Thanks.

1) Get a windscreen to reduce unnecessary wind
2) Roll windows down for proper ventilation
3) If very hot turn A/C on Max

(I know 1 and 2 sound like opposites, but if you are familiar with the aerodynamics of wind in a convertible, you'll cut out the obnoxious wind with the windscreen and let in a nice breeze with the windows down.)

I agree with the suggestions regarding the windows down and A/C on. If you run the A/C, choose the settings that send the air through the floor and center vents. Also, remember to wear a hat! However, remember that a convertible is a convertible and it's going to get hot out there; so just dress appropriately and have fun!

In the summer my top is up during the day with AC and then by sun set, the top comes down. That is the great option with having the vert .

If for sun protection, yes. If for wind, no... get a windscreen!

Same here. I enjoy the LA nights when the sun is down yet it's still 80 degrees out.

That's when you forget running and take the car out.

Keep an eye out on ebay - there are quite a few out there and you can usually save $100 or so by getting one used. Definitely worth every penny.

1. Gas up car.
2. Head west.
3. Stop when you get to San Diego. It will be sunny and cool.

Completely true. I got one from Windblox off of eBay, and I saved myself well over $200 from what an OEM windscreen would cost. From what my passengers have told me, it works better, too. Probably the lexan material used for construction. Keep a lookout! It's worth it!

FINALLY got my wife to go out with me with the top down (seriously - the last time was 2 verts ago... sigh!). 65 MPH with the windows down and the windscreen up and I don't hear one complaint from my wife. Roll up the windows for a little conversation (well, one where you can actually hear each other well ) and it was a wonderful ride.
