Thinking of trading my 745 for a 645

Hey guys, I've just received a really good offer on my 745i...its exactly what I paid for it last year. Because its a 2004 with 73,000kms (45k miles) and my CPO warranty will be over next month, I'm getting worried with maintenance on this car. I see all these problems people are having and I just don't have the kind of budget to constantly deal with repairs. I absolutely love the car, but I just don't need it. I'm 22 years old and I'm thinking of getting into a sportier car. I found a really good deal on a 2005 645ci. What do you guys think? Do these cars have as much issues as the 7-series? Should I keep the 7 or jump into a 6? For those who have driven both, what do you think a 22 year old would enjoy more? Thanks guys.

I think it's more a matter of your intent with the car. Do you need the extra space the 7 series offers? How about the 4 doors? Also If you are really attached to things like... oh... cupholders ... and space in the console to store things... being able to put adult passengers in the rear seats... then the 6 series might cause you some issues.

However, if you are more concerned with the driving experience and are looking for more of a sporty experience and feel vs a comfortable plush ride, then I'd definitely say the 6 series is a great choice. The 6 seems to have the best balance between luxury and sport over any other car I've owned.

+1 All depends on what you are looking for in a car. If you have stuff and people to haul then get the 7. If the car is just for you, then get the 6.

Thanks for the insight! Definitely don't need the extra room and am not worried about having extra passengers. I think I'll be buying a 6...hopefully a 650. Thanks again.

ps. maintenance is not any better than the 7, even maybe worse. but its worth it. p.s. im 23

I think thats what my service rep told me. The parts and maintenance is a tad more expensive on the 6 than the 7 due to the lower sales volume.
