X5 Exhaust

Does anyone know of good after market mufflers for a 4.4 X5? I would like a better sound, less restrictive with either the dual tips or the 4.6 single oval . I have seen some nice ones for 540's but I don't think they will work - Thanks for any input and links!

Supersprint Magnum. We've got a 4.6is in our showroom that's a retired demo. It's got the Supersprint Magnum on it and boy does it sound good.

Does the 4.6i exhaust bolt-on the 4.4i pipes?

I've seen and heard all the current systems for the e53. IMO, Dinan is by far and away the best exhaust for the X. The fit and finish is better than Eisenmann. The only issue for some people is that it's a cut and slip unit. Any competent muffler shop can add flanges though if you chose to revert back to stock but nobody does. If any of you are in the NYC area and want to see/hear Dinan for yourself, shoot me an e-mail.

more on mufflers

Thanks guys. I priced out the SS - around $1300. I found the Remus Stainless from the Wheel Exchange for $800 plus about $70 in shipping. Anyone heard these on a V8 BMW? Thoughts?

Contact ArtX5 (found on Roadfly). He's in Houston and has the Dinan. At Momentum BMW, they have every exhaust for the X in stock. I'm sure you can demo it there. X5monkey on Roadfly probably has a sound bite of his Remus 4.4i.

I think saved a sound clip of the ArtX5's Dinan exhaust on his 4.6 and X5Monkey's Remus exhaust on his 4.4. I will check tonight and if I have them I will post it here. I have a link to X5Monkey's video of the Remus exhaust on his old 3.0, if interested. It's sounds better on the 4.4 IMO. :-)

X5 Exhaust - Remus

OK - I am finally getting around to being ready to order and install the Remus exhaust system for my X5 4.4. Has anyone done this? Are you happy with it? Any input would be great... Thank you

Check www.X5World.net

There's some writeup on 4.6 to 4.4 exhausts and a couple of sounds clips to the various exhausts.
