N63 customer care package - other items to replace?

In the F01/F02 forum, there was a suggestion to replace "belts, hoses, thermostats, etc", while the engine is apart for work performed during the "recall", as it would cost little to no labor.

http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho...&postcount=156

The intention of this thread is to summarize such items that could be replaced, so owners could take advantage, and present a list to their dealership when they're having this work performed. I do not have much knowledge about the parts in the N63, so was hoping experts on this forum could chime in. I'll keep updating this post as we get newer suggestions.

1. Thermostats (which ones)
2. Belts (which ones)
3. Hoses (which ones)
4 ..

If you can, please also specify recommended mileage of replacement for these items, so owners can pick and choose which ones they want to do based on the mileage on their vehicles. Added bonus if you can specify cost of the part too, the owners have a good idea whether they're getting ripped off or not..

I doubt the dealers would do that additional work for "little to no labor" especially considering the amount of time and money they/BMW will go through to get all N63 engine BMW's fixed up with this package.

You may be right, but I wonder what the dealer pushback could be if the owner is paying for the parts. I do hope it is possible, as the poster who gave that suggestion appears to be someone well-connected with BMW:

Negotiate it in advance. If they push back, say "let me check with the guys at XYZ bmw".

The dealer will want the warranty $$, they should be happy with just retail on the parts.

Thanks ard. Any suggestions on items that would be a good idea to be replaced?
