I can't get the zipped file to open. Error message says file is corrupted. Anyone else have this problem. I sure would like to see this pricing sheet.

Anyone have the ordering guide that includes the 528i option package descriptions? The pdf file on this thread does not include the description of the option packages and there are some odd things about the price sheet for the 528i. For example, under Comfort Access it shows "NC" or notes that it is included in the ZCV package. Does that mean that CA is not available as a stand alone option on the 528i?

On both the USA Wholesale Price List posted above and the 4.16.10 Suggested Retail Price List it says that Comfort Access is NC for the 528. The key at the bottom of the document defines NC as a No charge Option. This is a bit odd because if you add Comfort Access as a stand alone option on the 535 and 550 it has a Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price of $1,000. My guess is that they are pushing the 535 customer into ZCV Convenience Package for $700 MSRP. It gets odder still. On the 535 only, if you get the ZCV Convenience Package, you must also take the ZPP Premium Package. Thus on the 535 in the USA if you want Comfort Access your choices are: 1. Stand alone option for $1,000 MSRP or 2. Buy both ZCV Convenience Package and ZPP Premium Package for a total of $3,500 MSRP. OR buy the 550 which includes ZPP Premium Package without extra charge and get the ZCV Convenience Package for $1700 MSRP.

I have three theories about this. 1. BMW has very low margins on the base cars while making significant profit on the options. 2. In order to push more US customers into the 550 that would normally just get the 535 if one wants the major options on the 535 the 550 becomes very tempting for $4,000 MSRP extra. 3. The 528 in the US must face competing cars that include their version of Comfort Access or key-less entry without extra charge.

+1 on this part of your theory.
I believe the $19,000 Sonata has what they call "Smart Keyless Entry" as standard.

The price list has been taken down. That did not last long.

This takedown approach is troubling. Checkout Scribd.com as a place to host the documents. The information is not copyrighted nor is it truly confidential.

Those were not BMW documents that were posted. I do not care for a moderator here approaching moderators at other BMW Enthusiast web sites. That is extremely petty, totally wrong, and does reflect well on Bimmerfest or the individual. Who appointed him to be the internet police? For every strategy there is a counter strategy to be developed. I am comfortable leasing an Audi every three years if push comes to shove. Audi makes fine cars.

My point exactly: the information is not copyrighted, nor is it confidential. I don't know what BMW has done to scare these websites, but it is leading unseemly behavior and reflects poorly on BMW and the sites.

If there is an explanation for this I would like to hear it.

Perhaps Jonathan Spira could offer an explanation. For whatever reason he contacted the moderators of Bimmerpost along with BMW. I didn't realize that there is a moderator of the internet for BMW. I didn't realize that moderator reciprocity existed. Many of us BMW Enthusiasts that post here and on other BMW Enthusiast web sites used to post on the BMW Message Board at Road Fly. The moderation became heavy handed when the E60 came out. The BMW Message Board at Road Fly is now devoid of posting.

Many BMWs in the US are purchased based dollars over invoice. Who wants to go back to wasting time and getting abused going from dealership to dealership to get a fair price? Who has time for that now a days? Why make an ever more expensive auto purchase/lease more time consuming and challenging? BMW's attempt to stifle information will be counter-productive. I do business with companies that I admire and respect. I have no respect for the new approach of BMW using lawyers to stifle information on the internet. If BMW does not value the business of BMW Enthusiasts, then I am sure that Audi will. Or Porsche or MB or Lexus or Infinity or Jaguar.

Yes, John Spira should be thrown off this board and bimmerfest. He has no right or control over what information is presented on the internet. BMW owners are smarter to know that they want the best deal or forget about it.

Does Spira get .....

a comp'd set of new BMW wheels to drive from BMW each time he takes one of his trips over there? If so, shouldn't he include the valu of that on his annual IRS filing???

BMW bean-counters and lawyers - keep this up and you'll be losing your enthusiast customers in bunches.

See, your problem is that you are working too hard. If you slacked off, Obama will subsidize your car, gas and insurance, and you wouldn't have to worry about how much the f10 costs!

On a more serious note, I have it download on my home computer, which I don't have access to due to my business travel. If you don't receive it from anyone in 2 weeks, PM me and I'll send it to you.

Meanwhile you can take a look at the "estimates" that are derived from the historical norm. These prices are spot on (I compared these numbers against the "official" ones).

I see this is a duplicate of the other thread that I posted in. You should be able to take 7% off the wholesale US pricing here -

2011 535i Sedan -> http://www.bimmerfest.com/models/201...324419/pricing

2011 550i Sedan -> http://www.bimmerfest.com/models/201...324421/pricing
