I don't think they do as there is only one company that makes the tender... that being said my set up has the quick disconnect attached to the engine bay but the tender itself is on a shelf in my garage and a 25 foot extension (tender extension cable) connects the car to the tender....

and that's the closest you can get to a tender under the hood...

Someone please explain.. I chg my battery, alternator and starter and still when I drive for 20 min I stop then go into the store come out and start the car... The car acts if it don't want to start up again... Seems like something is draining the battery- but don't the alternator suppose to keep the battery charge up.

There are a few possibilities that I can think of:
1) a problem with the IVM (integrated voltage module)
2) grounding cable or battery cable problem. Did you do the battery cable recall?
3) a short somewhere that is putting a draw on the battery when the car is off
4) what BMW calls an "unfavorable driving profile". Taking daily trips < 20 minutes in length

What would be a good tender to buy ? And where would I get it?

CTEK 3300 off amazon.com. The 7002 is a more heavy duty version that goes for about $100.
