How annoying is that? On top of all of that, I am told it will take 'a couple of days' to prep the car. I pushed, and was told they would get it done same day if it arrives in the morning.

I just noticed that line, mine was picked up today, I was hoping it would arrives by tomorrow now I'm not too sure. My CA kept mentioning that he need 24 hrs to get the NAV set up, something to do with the activation code. I guess this Sat/Sunday is a more realistic time frame for my delivery.

Hey all,

Just picked up my 35d from the dealer (SF Bay Area). It arrived at the dealer this morning, and it was ready by 3pm (they just inspected it, drove it around, washed it and filled up the tank).

For what it's worth, I have Nav, and it just worked -- no activation required, so I don't know what the other guy's dealer is on about. BMW Assist did need to be activated, but my CA actually did that after I left the dealer.

Drives beautifully. Already put 85 miles on it Looks good next to my (now my wife's), '07 328i.

Cheers,
Sean

I went to pick up my car today, but it was missing the NAV activation. It is required, there is no way around it, unless you don't want your NAV to work. They have to request license/activation keys from BMW, and it can take from a few hours up to 24 hours. I witnessed it first hand, and after a ride out to get diesel with my sales manager, ended up having to leave my X35d overnight. I am picking it up at 10am tomorrow.

I managed to make enough noise at BMW today to get them to agree to have a senior executive call anyone on here who is a 'victim' of the seat module campaign. She would not give me details on your car, because of privacy concerns, etc. So, here is the deal - she does not want me handing out her name/phone/email. But she needs more than just a production number - name, address, etc etc. So, anyone who wants to speak with a real person at BMW, not customer service or their CA, PM me with either a phone number that I can pass along to her. I will personally follow up with her in 24 hours and make sure everyone of you got a call, as well as to find out if you actually received some real information and an explanation, or were given lip service. I am going to allow them that opportunity before I take it to the next level.

So, again - anyone looking for info on a vehicle affected by missing seat modules, please PM me your telephone number and I will have her call you tomorrow.
Email is actually best rwc@vanguardipt.com - I am often on the road, and PM's are very hard to read/reply to on my BlackBerry.

Sorry this isn't happening sooner, I am moving them along as fast as I can.

(photos - in order)
I took the car for fuel with my CA before I would let them prep it - I was dying to drive it!
A photo of the outside while getting diesel - where else? - at a truck stop!
4 miles, 3 of them put on by me
Saying goodnight to my little X5 - see you at 10am tomorrow when I pick you up, buddy!

Thanks! I will feel better when the rest of you have yours cars, too. It's not as much fun knowing so many people are going through what I went through...

or up to 6 days if you've already paid for the vehicle and the service dept is full of knuckleheads. I'm guessing your dealer has the nav activation figured out by now and you won't have any problems like I did, http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho...435&highlight= hope everything goes smooth for you from now on.

Congratulations on delivery of your X5d's Mine was shipped to my dealer on Tuesday, but haven't heard it was received by the dealer. They had 6 X5d's that were being held, so it may take them some time to get them ready for delivery once they receive them. Hopefully today.

Glad you got your new ride Weston. Still waiting to see when I will get mine. It was probably put on a truck to MA on Tuesday. Strange that your car was here first, I had the first production slot from Chambers, given their volume I would have thoght it would have been here at the same time. Thanks again Weston for bird dogging all the info for everyone.

Just got the call from the Dealership. Car came in yesterday and was released by Technician this morning. CA is filling the tank with diesel now and should have it back and detailed later today for pickup. I am sure it was worth the wait. Will post pics

2011 X5D, Black Sapphire, Tobacco, Cold Weather, Premium, Sound, Rear Climate, Technology Package, Comfort Access, Multicontour Seats, Heated Rear Seats and Smartphone integration.

I ordered a 2011 diesel on March 18th and was assigned production #7556959. The CARB certification was annoying but at least out of the hands of BMW. The seat campaign (which nobody can even tell me if I'm definitively affected by) however has become infuriating. Especially since I'm seeing folks here and at other forums reporting vehicles (diesels) being delivered in production weeks after mine. Neither my CA nor the 800 # have a clue as to what exactly is going on and an ETA is entirely out of the question. The vehicle shows as having either been released to the carrier or at the VPC (dependent on who's asked) since the 24th of last month.

This would be my 3rd BMW, but I'm rapidly approaching the point where I'm just going to cancel and pick up an MDX or something same day. I appreciate Weston Bimmer's offer to help (I emailed him separately), but I frankly am cynical about the prospects of anyone at BMW contacting me. The wait is absurd, but the vacuum of info is pretty much intolerable. I've some hard deadlines in front of me requiring a new vehicle (my wife is due w/ our 2nd child in 2 weeks and my lease is up on the existing vehicle in 1).

Does anyone here have any suggestions for talking to an informed individual at BMW? The CA isn't that person... and the customer service line doesn't amount to that either.

I'm waiting for my 35d in Austin as well. Mine was a week 14 production car so its been done for over a month now. My guess is we are the farthest in the south region for the SC VPC. My bet is all of our cars will arrive together sometime next week. :-(

The one thing I did get out of the CA was that BMW of Austin was waiting for something like 15-16 Diesels alone at the moment. I'm guessing that's at least 2 trucks worth.

Sums up my thoughts exactly. I have been using the priority email system and have been straight getting the run-around. BMW just expects all of us to blindly wait for however long it takes for BMW to get around to sending your X5. What a sh!tty thing for a company to do. Also, it obviously seems like they are hiding something and don't want to give people the real reason based on how pissed Weston's contact got and the complete lack of anything that could be interpreted as information available to anyone. They are doing this to priority 1 sold vehicles and it's obvious they could care less. Thanks for putting us in our place BMW...
