E63 / E64 6 Series (2003 - 2013)
The E63/E64 BMW 6 Series builds on BMW's sporty heritage with aggressive lines and an incredible motor to back the design up. Available in coupe and convertible trims with a standard 4.8 liter engine producing 360 horsepower and 360 lb-ft of torque, the 6-series is a popular choice that exceeds expectations.

Break pads replaced - need help resetting the reminder in Idrive

I got my rear rotors an pads replaced, but the mechanic can't reset the reminder in Idrive menu under service info. Any ideas on how to do that?

somehow I think the little knob on the dash below the tachometer may have a purpose to this effect...

otherwise you will need diagnostic software... you can buy the computer/software or use the dealer...

dealer should not charge you much if any at all... call and ask them

$69.99 plus the cost of a sensor (around $20.00). The dealer does not want to re-set it for free - they say that the sensor has t be replaced, even know it's untouched. So, what you gonna do!? I've made an appointment for next coming monday... maybe I can do an upgrade on the IDrive (for an IPOD retrofit)... though for some reason an entire DFW area BMW dealers' software comuters are fried or something.

You can't reset it unless the wear sensor has been replaced? It's a $20 part and 30 seconds to replace it. Then follow Koen's process above. It's very easy and no-cost...
