Need an Opinion on Kidney Grill

Today I noticed my OEM grill was starting to bubble in a couple of spots. Since i am going to replace them, I started to look at aftermarket grills. I saw that you can get a glossy black or a matte black finish.

Which one do you guys think will look better on my car: glossy black, matte black, or OEM grill?

As you can see in my signature my car is black and my windows are tinted with 5% tint.

I also like the matte black, even on a black car. It adds just a little contrast to break up the front end a bit on a black car when its a matte finish.

How is the fitment on these grilles? I have heard that some people experienced gaps etc. Someone who has installed aftermarket grilles please chime in.

I purchased this one:

http://www.jlevistreetwerks.com/6-Se...duct_info.html

It was slightly more than the ones you find at other online retailers and on ebay, however, I feared exactly what you were talking about -- poor fitment. I couldn't be happier with the one I got though. It fits perfectly and you'd never know it wasn't an OEM part.

The price difference is only marginal, but you do (sometimes) get what you pay for.

I bough the cheapest ones on ebay (since they are probably the ones jlewis buy and then resell to us) and the fitment is perfect, no issues. I have a white car and used the matte black. I wouldnt buy something cheap that is painted though.

Mate I couldn't agree more with the opinions above.... I'veiterally taken after Market ones off which cost me under 60. The quality looks crap and it's a plasticy finish than a quality matt black, plus not to mention the deformed gaps round the fender.... Easiest option get them taken off, 2min job get them sanded down with acid so the desired paint can stick and not peel off over time, and get them painted in satin black which is Like an enhanced matt finish. The car is currently in bodyshop to be reavealed tmrw with all the final bits and bobs done. Will post pics soon
