Even to do only the visible exterior surfaces, it will be expensive for a decent whole car color change, however, on this caliber of car you'd want to do it properly which would include the engine bay, door jams, etc. That means pulling the motor...

To do it right will easily cost more than $5k (good quality paint + done right) but that is not the real issue you will face -- the real issue will be when you go to sell and realize that because you changed the color you have diminshed the value of your car - you won't get as much on trade -- or as much from a private sale -- if the color is changed. People will naturally wonder why the color was changed and they will also begin to wonder if it was done right -- simply too many questions.

If you must have black then I would suggest you find a black one and trade yours for it -- yes you might lose some money short term but in the long run you will be happier and in a better place financially.

Another member in the forum is having issues after a fantastic paint job. This car is way to expensive to repair on out of warranty parts which will probably appen if you start messing with it.

Hmmmm, I think you are looking at a huge investment. I quated $4800 on an all over, black, on an 03 Maurader we have in the shop right now, but the car is already black so that's really just shooting the exposed painted surface

I don't believe any quality body shop would re-paint for 5k. Closer to double that! Alot of work to do it right. Not just a basic paint job. Find a black one!

I'd get the car wrapped for easily under 2k, at least in my area...it lasts over 5 years and once you do remove it, the paint below is kept as good as the day it was wrapped.....there's some really good vehicle wrappers out there, plus you don't have to alter the original paint in any way...in some eye, a vehicle color that doesn't match the color code on the car spell wrecked, katrina car possible or whatever they can think of. Google vehicle wraps and you'll be amazed at the results and quality.

Thanks to all. I may look into the vehicle wrap.

Glad I had somewhere to come before I invested and regretted this.
